Under general supervision, assists in providing services offered through the Nursing Skills Laboratory and nursing simulation. This position involves preparation and breakdown of nursing simulations, maintaining the skills laboratory supplies, manikins, and equipment, and performing related duties as required.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:

  • Prepare and breakdown instructional laboratory simulation sessions in all areas of clinical nursing skills with direction from Simulation Coordinator.
  • Assist with technical and audio/visual support and running healthcare simulation scenarios including equipment, manikins, moulage, and standardized patients.
  • Program simulator software to model physiological response to instructor specifications.
  • Operate and maintain patient simulators and cameras, audio/visual and debriefing systems.
  • Evaluate laboratory and simulation equipment functioning and report issues of wear and tear, safety and malfunction to Simulation Coordinator.
  • Help to maintain database records of all holdings in the Nursing Skills Laboratories. (example: accounts receivable files on supply consumables and major/minor equipment.)
  • Assist Lab manager in ordering of supplies and equipment for the skills/simulation laboratories.
  • Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and students
  • Participate in Department of Nursing faculty meetings as needed.


  • At least a bachelor's degree in related field (ie: Computer Science, Management Information technology, Medical technology, Life Sciences)
  • Previous experience in Healthcare Simulation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.
