The department of nursing functions under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Professional Studies and the Assistant Dean/Director of Nursing Programs.



The Clinical Placement Manager in the Department of Nursing is responsible for identifying, contacting, recruiting, and recommending potential clinical sites for Concordia University, Irvine, Department of Nursing.  The Manger would collaborate with the department of nursing in developing relationships with new clinical agencies and maintaining current clinical agencies.  The Clinical Placement Manager would be generating new affiliation agreements and working together with the agencies for proper nursing student placement.  



  • Recommended by the Dean and the Director of Nursing
  • Approved by the Dean of the School of Professional Studies



  • Report to the Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing
  • Collaborates with Director of Nursing, Clinical Coordinator, Faculty, Supervisors and fellow administrative staff.
  • Interact and function cooperatively with other campus personnel



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:

  1. Identify and initiate contact with potential clinical sites for all areas: Med/Surg, OB, Peds, Mental Health, Geriatrics, and Community.   
  2. Interact with potential and contracted clinical agencies
  3. Generate new affiliation agreements with clinical agencies.
  4. Develop positive relationships with new clinical agencies and help to maintain current clinical agencies.
  5. Collaborate with Clinical Coordinator to maintain current list of approved clinical facilities and to maintain all contracts with clinical agencies.
  6. Collaborate with Clinical Coordinator and Director of Nursing for clinical needs.
  7. Create and maintain appropriate clinical opportunities for all areas: Med/Surg, OB, Peds, Mental Health, Geriatrics, and Community
  8. Participate in networking activities to build relations with healthcare facilities and related professional associations such as orientation activities, community professional meetings and/or recruitment/job fairs.
  9. Provide current reports to Assistant Director/Director of Nursing on all potential and current clinical agencies.
  10. Collaborate with Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing and Clinical site coordinator to develop and evaluate appropriate student learning opportunities.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:            

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in health care
  • Nursing background
  • Outstanding customer service
