OFFICE PROFILE: The Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM) shall oversee the functions related to the Enrollment of undergrad, graduate, and adult populations on campus.  

 

ROLE: Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer the VPEM will provide strategic leadership in advancing the University's recruitment and enrollment goals. The Vice President for Enrollment Management provides vision and oversight to the recruitment and admissions process. The Vice President of Enrollment management shall oversee a division of multiple staff members, complemented by the efforts of several student workers and tour guides. Additionally, the VPEM maintains the institutional commitment to superior customer service, develops brand awareness, provides leadership to marketing initiatives, and assures effective use of technology and analysis of data in achieving enrollment objectives. The VPEM shall collaborate with senior officers and academic leadership to deliver an extraordinary educational experience and new program offering to Concordia University students.

STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:   

  • Report to the Executive Vice President, COO
  • Collaborates with the Deans and staff of the School of Education, School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Professional Studies, and Christ College.
  • Collaborates with the Office of Innovative Instruction and e-Learning, Associate Vice President of Marketing, and program directors to bring new programs to market.
  • Collaborates with all university community members as necessary

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:  

 

Enrollment

 

  1. Develop a strategic enrollment management plan (3-5 years) consistent with the institutional mission that incorporates recruitment and admissions of traditional undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult degree students.
  2. Develops an annual recruitment plan that encompasses all enrollment aspects of the university and targets the digital and on-ground strategies that will be implemented each year in an effort to meet enrollment goals.
  3. Create and maintain an integrated, student-centered enrollment management process in which admissions and financial aid work effectively together to accomplish mutual recruitment and retention objectives.
  4. Systematically evaluate and update the effectiveness of recruitment practices related to the annual recruitment plan.

 

  1. Oversee the entire E-Communication strategies through CRM technology and the Web for the university.
  2. Collaborate with and oversee the work of contracted vendors.
  3. Collaborate with Academic Deans and Program Directors to set enrollment objectives based on demand and capacity.
  4. Nurture and enhance relationships throughout the University, particularly with academic affairs and student affairs to sustain an ethos of shared participation in, and responsibility for, enrollment and recruitment.
  5. Manage the fiscal and material resources allocated to the department.
  6. Support, develop, and direct staff to meet goals, building on past success and improvising new strategies that propel forward momentum.
  7. Create a strong sense of teamwork throughout the division of enrollment management.
  8. Participate in Executive Council and provide monthly enrollment updates.
  9. Performing other job-related duties including service to University committees, as assigned by the Executive Vice President, COO.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the university's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

  • BA degree required, MA preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM's) and the ability to utilize data to drive decision making and strategy
  • Seven to ten years of experience in admissions or recruiting, preferably in a management role preferred
